1. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Accounts, Email Verification, and Onboarding

You may need an account to access features such as reading content, joining departments, or running web apps. We require email verification before sign-in.

After verification, we may require you to complete an onboarding/profile flow, which may include providing a name, profile image, LinkedIn URL, academic history, and work history. Some Platform actions (for example, applying to be an author) may be limited until your profile is complete.

3. Your Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date.
• Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and account access.
• Promptly notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Departments, Roles, and Permissions

The Platform may organize features by departments and may assign roles and permissions (for example, member, author, department head, or admin). If you subscribe to a department, you may gain access to department content. If you apply to be an author, a department head may review your application and grant additional permissions.

You agree not to attempt to bypass access controls, permissions, or security features.

5. Content and User Submissions

The Platform may allow you to submit content such as profile information, author applications, or articles ("User Content"). You are responsible for the User Content you submit and for ensuring you have the rights to post it.

• Do not upload or post content that is illegal, infringing, misleading, or violates others’ rights.
• Do not include confidential information you do not have permission to share.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your User Content as necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the Platform.

6. Web Apps and Engineering Tools

The Platform includes interactive web apps and tools. Outputs are provided for informational purposes and may depend on the inputs you provide. You are responsible for verifying results and using professional judgment.

Do not use the Platform to run malicious, abusive, or unauthorized workloads, and do not attempt to reverse engineer, exploit, or disrupt the Platform.

7. Acceptable Use

• No unauthorized access, scanning, scraping, or interference with the Platform.
• No uploading malware or attempting to compromise other accounts or systems.
• No harassment, hate speech, or unlawful content.
• No impersonation or misrepresentation of identity or affiliation.

8. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, software, and branding, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for rights expressly granted in these Terms, we reserve all rights.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform if you violate these Terms, if required for security, or if required by law. You may stop using the Platform at any time.

10. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that outputs from tools will be correct for your specific use case.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Platform.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
